Wei Yuan
Dr. Wei Yuan is an industry expert in mobile broadband networks planning, optimization and system performance with more than 15 years of experience operations research and machine learning applications in mobile telecom networks. He is currently CTO, International Operations, of Cerion Inc.
Yuan started his telecom career in 1995 at Nortel Networks Wireless Systems Engineering division where he was responsible for developing wireless network optimization and machine learning algorithms to provide cost savings and efficiency to wireless carries. Yuan also worked at Sonus Networks where he focused on architecture design of Sonus soft-switch and its billing system. Yuan joined in Lucrometrics after leaving Sonus. While at Lucrometrics, he developed optimization algorithms for increasing telecom network profitability through capital deferment.
Yuan holds 6 US patents in the telecommunications field.
Before his career in telecom industry, Yuan was a research associate at Rice University, developing effective and efficient algorithms for various large-scale optimization problems on parallel computers. Yuan also worked as a lecturer at Tsinghua University in China.
Yuan received a Bachelors Degree from Xi'an Jiaotong University in China, a Master Degree from Peking University, and a PhD degree from Cornell University, all in Applied Mathematics.
