Job Description/Summary:
The Network Consultant will be responsible for delivering engineering solutions for service providers to improve operational efficiencies and network performance.
Key responsibilities include communicating requirements with the customer, developing detailed network plans which encapsulate those requirements, and delivering high quality results, exceeding the expectations of the customer. Final deliverables must always improve the customer?s network and provide high value by integrating strong technical expertise with Cerion quality methods of delivery.
The function will report directly to the VP of Professional Services
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Review and understand all requirements for each assigned project with detail to ensure delivery precision and accuracy
- Work with Senior Consultants and Sales/management to ensure any questions regarding assigned project are fully answered before engaging with customers
- Perform deep dive analysis of wireless telecommunications network performance and capacity
- Decompose complex problems into small manageable problems
- Work independently, escalating where appropriate to ensure quality and delivery timelines are not compromised
- Extract relevant measurements from large databases and apply data to validate results
- Hold regular, scheduled meetings with the customer to discuss results and progress
- Create and deliver optimal customer solutions leveraging the full product capabilities of Cerion
- Provide network recommendations which result in minimal number of element rehomes, reduced inter-boundary handovers, and balanced utilizations
- Review all customer presentations internally with senior consultants before presenting to customer to ensure highest quality of deliverables
- Document final deliverables to customer in a clear and concise manner, soliciting their feedback and approval in documented e-mail or other hardcopy form
- Be an expert in using Cerion products, and work with testing alpha product releases to provide feedback to development team in ensuring future releases meet customer needs
- Report software bugs and recommended changes by submitting detailed requests to the development bug/change request tracking system
- Participate in developing technical training materials for both consulting services and software products
Requirements:
- Sound knowledge of wireless network technology and forward evolution plans
- Strong communication and presentation skills for direct interfacing with customers
- Comprehensive understanding of UTRAN/RAN/SGSN technology including call event flows
- Must be hands on in nature and absolutely passionate about their work
- Willing to do what it takes to get the job done with very limited resources in a timely manner
- Detail oriented and have the ability to methodically check work for accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Applications, specifically Excel
- Ability to travel up to 50% of time
Education/Experience:
- Masters/PHD in EE/CS or Mathematics, or equivalent technical experience with Bachelors Degree
- Minimum 2 years experience working with Telecom Operators, Infrastructure Vendors or Service Companies
- Experience in development of SQL Queries
