Cerion Selected by Mobile Broadband Network Ltd for Network Capacity Management
Cerion Optimization Services Inc. announced today that MBNL (Mobile Broadband Network Ltd) has selected the Texas based company to deliver RNC and BSC capacity management and optimization for their shared networks.
The solution will deliver greater network efficiency for all voice and data services provided to MBNL's customers using next generation capacity management, planning and optimization software platform to help cope with the spectacular growth in smartphone usage.

RAN Harvesting Program Recovers Stranded Equipment & Unleashes Additional Capacity
Deploying or redeploying network assets within the network where and when they are required maximizes ROI for operators. The end result is an improved end-user experience, and an increase in revenue for the operator.
Cerion Optimization Services Inc., a Texas-based engineering firm, announces its RAN Harvesting Program to address stranded capacity and unleash it to increase revenue and subscriber satisfaction.
Using market-level projections alone often results in sites being under or over provisioned. Recently one of our customers asked us to analyze cluster-based demand vs. capacity available at the site level to see if we could help them avoid millions of dollars in planned expenditures. Our analysis found significant discrepancies between the current configuration of the network and the target optimized design. We were able to save them in excess of five million in capital expenditures, which was approximately 15% of the budget.
The RAN Harvesting program includes advanced traffic forecasting, channel element or baseband card capacity usage & dimensioning, and sector-carrier capacity usage analysis based on PA power and codes. This service leverages multiple months' worth of operational measurements. The RAN is partitioned into zones, each having unique growth trends. The forecasting algorithm takes this data to provide more accurate site-level demand projections. Site-level capacity can be corrected with this improved method, with recommendations on where to redeploy site equipment.

Cerion pioneers first ever capacity planning software platform for SHARED RADIO ACCESS NETWORKS
This week, Cerion Optimization Services Inc., a Texas-based engineering firm released the first ever capacity planning software platform capable of handling shared radio access networks. Nick Shanker Joins Cerion Optimization Services as Chief Executive Officer

Shanker has over 20 years of senior management experience in influential high technology sectors such as wireless and wireline telecommunications, as well as handling large- scale deployment programs.
Shanker played a pivotal role at Ericsson, as Vice President of Network Deployment and Technology Consulting Services. During his tenure at Ericsson, he oversaw all planning and deployment activities from design to optimization and managed one of the largest telecom supply chain in North America. Under his leadership, Ericsson took the leading position as equipment manufacturer and turnkey services provider.
